Christina Bachenberg is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Board-Certified Supervisor at Luminous Psychotherapy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, and her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in Child/Adolescent Therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC.
With over a decade of experience as a counselor, Christina is passionate about helping adolescents and families navigate life’s challenges and build brighter futures. Her clinical approach is both solutions-focused and client-centered, emphasizing collaboration, resilience, and practical strategies to foster meaningful change.
Christina specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, and empowering youth to recognize their strengths and overcome obstacles. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment where growth and healing can flourish by tailoring interventions to meet each client's unique needs.
Throughout her career, she gained diverse experiences across various settings, including residential treatment programs for teens, school counseling, and private practice. This background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities young people face today, as well as the tools to guide them toward more positive outcomes. With a deep commitment to empowering individuals and families, Christina focuses on helping clients navigate life’s transitions, manage stress, and build meaningful relationships. She combines evidence-based interventions with a personalized touch, tailoring treatment plans to meet each client’s unique needs and circumstances.
Christina also specializes in supporting teens who self-harm — and the parents who have just discovered it and don't know what to do next. Drawing on her years in residential treatment settings, she approaches this work with steadiness rather than alarm: helping teens understand what the behavior has been doing for them, building safer ways to cope with overwhelming feelings, and guiding parents to respond in ways that open conversation instead of shutting it down. Families often arrive frightened. Christina helps everyone find their footing again.
